- Click the Apple Menu and scroll down to and click on Control Panels.
- Then click on Remote Access or PPP (depending on your OS, ex. 8.5 & higher uses Remote Access).
- Type in your username. Please Note: You must add the domain to your username. Your username should now read like an email address, with all lowercase letters and no spaces (ex. username@switchol.com).
- Type in your password.
- Enter your local dialup number. For a list of numbers, click here.
- Click the Options Button
- Make sure ONLY following things are checked:
- Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications
- Allow error correction and compression in Modem
- Use TCP header compression
- Click OK and Yes to save the changes.
- Click on the Apple Menu and scroll down to and click on Control Panels
- Click on TCP/IP.
- Connect via should say PPP
- Configure should say Using PPP Server
- IP Address, Subnet mask and Router address will automatically say “will be supplied by server”
- For Name server address enter 12.26.83.2
- Close out the window and save any changes.
You are now ready to go! To start browsing the internet, simply open your internet browser (like Internet Explorer or Netscape). |
