Note: This will set up Dialup Networking for connection to Switch Online. You should already have Microsoft Internet Explorer installed on your computer which will also require some setup. The basic settings sheet will provide the needed information for you to accomplish this.
- Click on My Computer
- Click on Dial-Up Networking
If Dialup Networking is not installed, continue with step 3, otherwise, go to step 17.
- Click "Install"
- Click on "your modem"
- Click "OK"
- Click "Configure"
- Click "Dial Out only"
- Click "OK"
- Click "Network"
- Click "TCP/IP" as the only protocal to be used
- Click "OK"
- Click "Continue"
- Click "Close" (Some versions of DUN don't have this step)
- Restart System
- Click on "My Computer"
- Click on "Dialup Networking"
- Click on New Connection
- For the phonebook entry enter Switch Online
- Click "Next"
- Enter the local phone number from the Basic Settings sheet. For a list of numbers, click here.
- Click "Next"
- Click "Finish"
- Select SwitchOnline in the phonebook line
- Click "More"
- Click "Edit Entry and Modem Properties"
- Click the "Server" tab
- Click "TCP/IP Settings" button
- Put a dot next to "Specify Name Server Addreses"
- Enter 12.26.83.2 in primary DNS
- Uncheck "Use IP Header Compression"
- Click "OK"
- Click "OK"
- Click "Close"
